How Practical is Your Lab?

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

As science educators we spend quite a bit of time, effort and resources on ensuring viable labs for our students. However, we do not really have a way to ensure that each student is proficient with the skills used within the labs. The TEA has designed the STAAR/EOC to showcase the proficiency of the first four science TEKS which are universal through K-12 science curriculum. Science educators have seen that the lab write-up is not enough to hold the individual student accountable for these process skills. In this presentation, we will have the opportunity to discuss strategies to build individual accountability of lab process skills, how to develop assessments beyond the lab write-up and the ease of integrating multiple lab practicums into your unit maps.
