Teaching about Earth's Past Climate: Becoming Virtual Climate Detectives at Sea

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Join us in exploring a new free EarthLabs curriculum to investigate the Earth's climate history through ocean sediments. Students will embark on a journey in "Climate Detectives: An Expedition on the JOIDES Resolution" as they explore the objectives, methods, and data collection tools scientists use to conduct research. During the 6 labs that make up the module, learners are challenged to become "Climate Detectives" as they investigate geologic processes and scientific methods with the International Ocean Discovery Program. While written for High School students, we will also share how this curriculum can be incorporated into Middle School classrooms. As this module involves both on-line and hands-on activities, bring your technology and prepare to drill for “sediments”!
