Slaying Strategies for Science Success

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

With more students entering science classrooms at or below grade level in reading and/or mathematics, it is imperative that the science instructor strategically plan and execute methods which will increase student achievement by embedding reading and/or mathematics seamlessly into the science curriculum. Although most science instructors can agree this problem exists, the ongoing integration of reading and mathematics strategies may not always seem an accomplishable feat. During this hour long session, methods which will increase both teacher and student effectiveness will be provided. Teachers will review material directly related to select science units and will be provided links to locate additional resources. At the end of the session, participants will be able to supplement and/or modify existing units with reading and mathematics strategies. Participants will leave knowing how to execute a plan to increase student achievement in science with reading and mathematics integration.
